Today is 20 years since Internet As we know it was created I think
this is a perfect day to Open this blog.

Before Internet:
The year is 1958 USSR has launched sputnik and Usa creates ARPA
From ARPA the IPTO was born to reserach the S.a.g.e program

J.C.R. Licklider head of the IPTO launch his idea of a “Galactic network” in 1962
Paul Barren in RAND corp. was working on a network that could survive a nuclear war:
- Use of a network from A to Z with lot of points between
- Fragmenting messages



The idea of this Galactic network was presented in 1964 and even today is legendary believing Arpanet was created to survive a nuclear war which is not all true but it was designed to be strong.
4 Research companies Darpa, Rand, Mit and NP was to be the first to test Arpanet.

in 1966: ARPA contacted Lawrance G. Robets in Lincoln Lab in MIT to create this new network.
Roberts idea was to conect Computers using phonelines
.
In 1967: Robets presented the first plan to design ARPANET

Summer 1968: the complete plan for Arpanet was complete
and got aproved by Arpa.
140 Providers was contacted to pick the best which become BBN in 1969
(where Lickliderel had worked).


ArpaNet (Military internet) is born:

29 October 1969: the ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network) created by DoD (dept.of defense in usa) was born and the first message was sent.
one month later the first 2 nodes between ULCA and SRI university
in california got conected.
the first message was sent the smale computers used a phonemodem
(a device that modulate and translate signal from the analogue phone line),
the speed was dial up 50 kb/s.
The first computers used was Honeywell DDP-516 with 24Kb memory.

ARPANET had 4 computers linked (which then was the max possible) in:
UCLA, SRI university in stanford, California university, Utah university.
The first link was done in 21 November 1969 between UCLA and Standford university.
5 Des 1969: the whole network was up and running.

in 1970: ARPANET spread to the East Usa when BBN joined the network.
by 1971: there was 23 conected to the Net they was all University and research facilities.
in 1972: Ray Tominson from BBM invented the Email making Arpanet being a sucess.
in 1973: The British Post joined and started working with Telenet,datapac and transpac created the first international network packet-switched network which was launched 5 years later as IPSS.
in 1973: FTP was invented to easy send files over the net



ARPANET BECOMES INTERNET
The name INTERNET was first used in 1974 by american scientist Vinton Cerf

in 1981: Tim Berners started to work on a project he called ENQUIRE
It was not meant to be released to the general public and was done on a NORSK DATA COMPUTER (A norwegian computer)
ENQUIRE was more like what Wikpedia is today you can read about it HERE
The project was abandoned but developed into what later become THE WEB in 1989

in 1981: the numbers of computers conected to internet was now 213
making the network not only cover Usa and Europe but also extended to Canada, Hong kong and Australia.

In 1985: National Science Foundation (NSF) started create the NSFNET
a university network for universities running at dialup 56 kb/s speed.
one year later NSFNET was upgraded to 1.5 Megabit/s .

in 1988: Internet got comercial intress
NSFNET was to be conected to MCI MAIL system and went online one year later

in 1989: Internet had a HUGE grow several Internet providers like
UUNET, PSINET, CERFNET emerged and USENET and BITNET merged with this internet
Also Telenet, Tymnet, Compuserve and JANET got conected to this internet.



Cern Creates THE WEB
Until Now Internet had only been used for Research and communication by military, universities and reserach companies and had a huge grow thanks to Emails and companies like Cisco system
but Civil citizens had no way of conecting to internet expensive computers was needed

In 1989: English scientist Tim berners had been working on the Wikipedia-like Enquire idea to conect to internet since 1980 this early prosject now become the idea to create "The Information Mesh" which was to be a Easy internet format for the Swiss Cern (the creator of the LHC bigbang machine) to share information with Labs around the world.
as with "Enquire" , "Information Mesh" (The web) was never meant to be for the general public.

In 1990: With help from Robert Calliau Tim publish his idea on 12Nov 1990
The "Information mesh" changed name to "World wide web" (www)
and got commonly refered to as just "The Web"
The idea consisted of a Easy way to acess internet by webnodes and storing hypertext pages
to view them using browsers on the internet.
In Desember 1990 Everything was ready to create "The Web"
The first browser "WorldWideWeb", The first webserver and the first Webpage (that described the prosject) was born.

In 1991: Tim created the first universal software to install on any computer to conect to the interet.
The same year in 6 August 1991, CERN, publicized the new World Wide Web project.
A Short summary of "The Web" was posted on the alt.hypertext.newsgroup
This DATE marked the debut for the web as going officialy ONLINE.
(So maybe we shall mark our calendars 6 August 2011 as another 20th Anniversary date)
"The WEB" crossed the Europe borders to go worldwide by Desember 1991.

Many people believe internet we use today was created by Usa military in 1969 so we should not celebreate a 20th anniversary now THIS IS WRONG.
It is true ARPANET contribuited to build the internet to what is today
but ARPANET was only a link of computers to share research using emails and FTP
while THE WEB (which has 20th anniversary) is a easy way to acess webpages on the internet
using browsers and view/store hypertext and multimedia on the internet.
The Web also made it possible for everyone to go online.

People almost always mix up the terms "The web" and "internet"
is mostly the same BUT the Internet and the World Wide Web (The web)
are not one and the same. INTERNET is a global data communication system
a collection of computers and network that swap data using wires and cables
a Hardware and Software infrastruture.
In contrast the web is one of the services that communicate over the internet infrastructure.
is a collection of documents,images,music and other resources linked by hyperlinks and URL and use Browsers.
so The Web is just a easy way to conect to webpages and the like in the Infrastructure called Internet by using webpages.
ViolaWWW and mosaic was the first popular browsers.

In 1993: on April 30 Cern announce that "The WEB" will be free for ANYONE
and will have no FEES.
the same year Mosaic (later netscape) popular webrowser was released making internet even more popular, Phoenix/Firebird browser (later firefox) was released



In 1994: TIm Berners-lee left CERN and in october 1994 started the World wide web consortium (W3C) founded by Massachussets institute (MIT) With help from DARPA.
Phoenix/firebird change name to Firefox



In 1995: Microsoft release Internet Explorer browser still the most used one today since 1999 (actualy this blog was written using IE7)
This made Busniess intressed in buying a domain .com to increase their busniess :)
it was called the "dot.com bubble"

In 1996: Internet got common used all over the world
Internet had in 90s grow with 100% per year
By December 31, 2008, 1.574 billion people were using the Internet .
Hotmail (the most popular free email provider) was born in July 1996.



In 1998: GOOGLE is born
is my favorite search engine still today I used Yahoo before i swapped to google.

In 1999: 22 July 1999 Microsoft released MSN messenger
This webmaster (Me) got conected to internet for the first time (from home)
thanks to Sega dreamcast game console (read more in the about section)
I also played my first online game on Sega servers



In 2000: My First Webpage JLONLINE was created



In 2001:
I got into the dot.com craze and my first paid domain was up and running by 2001
It was supose to be Jlonline.com but it was not avaible the name was owned by a chinesee company the name of my web changed to jlfusion.com




In 2004: THE WEB 2.0 was anounced a upgrade of the The Web

THE WEB 2.0 will be like a updagrated proversion of the THE WEB
like building highways in Cyperspace.
The Web 2.0 will allow to run Softwares through webpages
The Web 2.0 is also to be more like Wikipedia where visitors can change the content not only view it.
Web 1.0 was the "View-it web", Web 2.0 will be the "Experience n' contribuite"
Web 2.0 already exist today to a limited degree its "Wikipedia, Twitter, YouTube , Facebook, Myspace etc...
Web 2.0 is Social networking internet
FACEBOOK was born in 2004.



In 2005-2006: Youtube was created by former paypal workers since 2006 Google owns youtube.

In 2007: I Started post videos on youtube
There is plan for a Jlfusion channel for 2009

In 2008:
I Started my First blog on Googles Blogger
Plans to a radical change on Jlfusion.com was started in late 2008
Plan was to use the frontpage as a Blog which linked to all webpages i made.

In 2009:
JLFUSION New Web blog open on the 20th anniversary of The Web
